About Me
Hey, I’m Zel.
I’m a songwriter, a storyteller, a dad, and someone who still gets lost in the quiet hum of a guitar string.
If you’ve landed here, welcome. This is a glimpse into the world I’ve slowly been building—through songs, silence, and the in-between.
I write songs for a living—or maybe more truthfully, I write because I need to feel alive. You might know me as the frontman of December Avenue, but beyond the stage, I’m someone who finds meaning in quiet moments, deep conversations, and the simple act of turning feelings into sound.
Music has always been my way of making sense of the world. Every line I write, every melody I chase, starts from something real—grief, joy, longing, love. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to create songs that have found their way into people’s lives, often in the exact moments they needed them most. That’s something I’ll never take for granted.
Lately, I’ve been exploring more personal territories—recording demos at home, producing my own music, and diving deeper into my sound. It’s a journey that’s constantly evolving, but always grounded in honesty. I don’t aim for perfection; I aim for truth.
Outside music, I’m a husband, a father, a keeper of koi and bonsai, and someone who believes that the small, quiet things often hold the most meaning. These slow rituals teach me patience—and somehow, they always find their way back into the songs.
This space is where I share a little more of that world with you.
Thanks for being here. I hope you find something that resonates.
Love,
