A Rare Performance in Canada
Last November, I had the chance to perform solo around Canada as part of The Velvet Tour.
Along the way, I was invited by a few special people who share the same vision and values I hold close. They welcomed me into their home studio, not for a show, not for an audience, but simply to create and document a moment.
I performed Don’t Close Your Eyes, a recent release from my solo project, above velvet air. I consider this a rare performance. Moments like this do not happen often, and there is almost zero chance that I will ever perform this song again for a recording.
This performance features the Red Label Yamaha FS9-R Acoustic Guitar, made in Japan. The setting allowed its raw acoustic character to come through, intimate and honest, exactly how the song was meant to be heard.
That is what made it special.
Unrepeatable. Unpolished. Present.
This was not about perfection or reach. It was about trust, restraint, and letting the song exist quietly in the space it was given.
